Link
Text within a web page that redirects the viewer to another location within the web page, loads a different web page or downloads a file. The HTML syntax for hyperlinks is <a href="...link address...">...link title...</a>. Once the link title is clicked, the browser requests the web page or file specified in the link address. Linux
An free open-source version of Unix that was developed by Linus Torvalds in the early 1990s. Linux is now compatible with the majority of computer platforms and microprocessors. Several commercial versions of Linux exist, such as SuSe Red Hat, but the open-source version can still be obtained free of charge.
Lossy Compression
Compression techniques in which file sizes are reduced by sacrificing some of the data (image detail, or audio data). For example, JPEG files allow the user to choose the quality level of the image on a scale of 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest). Usually, some image data will be discarded, but the lower image detail may be justified by the savings in file size.
